2018 FallAWS State Meeting

Montgomery

Our 2018 fall meeting of the Alabama Wildflower Society was in Montgomery. We visited Lagoon Park which consists of approximately 175 acres of land. The park includes sunny meadows, sunny and shady bogs, ponds and creeks, hardwood forests and piney flats. There are seven miles of trails for hiking. We hiked the Forest Road Trail (approx. one mile with easy walking) and others as we have time. A guide has yet to be determined.

Our main purpose was to help with the planting of native plants in the park.

Sunday morning we met at Fort Toulouse for a wildflower walk. Mr. Ned Jenkins, state archaeologist, was our host.
